Sunshine throughout day but mist and cloud above 830m. Gentle breeze throughout the day brought a chill.
From Patterdale took footpath along Grisdale beck to Grisdale Forest. Summitted Dollywaggon Pike (858m) via "The Tongue". North to High Crag (884m), Nethermost Pike (891m). Descended ridge to the East to Patterdale common. Slogged north and ascended onto Striding Edge (1) to Helvellyn (950m). Skipped along to Helvellyn Lower Man (925m) before scrambling over Swirral Edge (1) to Catstye Cam (890m). Descendd to Glenridding via "hole-in-the-wall". Total of 7hours.
Crampons worn intermittently on high summits: Helvellyn, Helvellyn Lower Man; And along ridgelines: Striding Edge, Swirral Edge.
