Description

Meall A' Bhuachaille 810- Creagan Gorm 732
Parked at Glenmore - walked out and up towards Ryvoan then up onto Meall a Bhucahille and over towards Creagan Gorm before backtracking back down towards Glenmore and out up towards the van.
Party of 2 people
Looked at elements of navigation encompassing - bearings, distances, duration and description being the main parts we worked on.
Some off Track
Winds of around 30-40 mph generally constant at the tops.
Looked at weather information prior to heading out and assessed the route to be appropriate as a venue due to high wind speeds up on the plateau.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
