From Edale (~ 250 meters) to Triangulation Pillar (SK1293/8780)(590 Meters) on Kinder Plateau, the Druid Stone (SK1347/8744)(570 meters), and then Crookstone Hill. Departed Penny Pot at 10:33 am. Traveled through Edale, past The Old Nags Head Pub, over the Grindsbrook foot bridge to the small stone barn next to the developed trail. left the trail to climb to The Nab, and on up to Ringing Rodger, to the top of Golden Clough. From there took a bearing to the Triangulation Pillar. Found that winter is the best time to traverse the open moor as the mud and muck of the peat bog is frozen enough to not sink more than inches into the bog. Had to zigzag around deep cuts in the moor to the Trig pillar. From there, took a bearing to the Druid Stone. From the Druid Stone I descended back down to an established trail to Crook Stone Hill, the Sheepfolds and barn at Crookstone farm. Turned back west to cross Jaggers Clough, to Clough Farm, to Nether Booth and the Youth Hostel at Lady Booth Brook. Acrossed the fields back to Edale at The Old Nags Head, and back to the Penny Pot Cafe. Total Distance: 9.08 miles. Total Time 3 hours 57 minutes. Total elevation gain 1,814 ft. Weather mild. 3C on plateau. Light winds, mostly clear sky. Good Visibility.
