Description

5 Day IWM for Cameron Barracks
I don't remember the details but typical week would look like:
Day 1 - Ra-pour building, Meal Doire Faid, look at nav, steep ground movement, use of the boot, crampons and ice axe.
Day 2 - Coire Laogh Mor, look at nav, transceiver use, avalanche rescue, snow shelters such as a shovel up. Discuss leadership.
Day 3 - Glen Feshie, micro nav, leadership styles and legs
Day 4 - Moruisg, big day, bag a munro and put skills into practice. Phyically stretching, look at mindsets
Day 5 - Cairngorm - quick summit hit then back to dekit.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
