Description

Arrived in Coire Fee to find it very spring-like, gullies incomplete & much running water. Plan had been B Gully but this was clearly not present. However, we found a way up A Gully, what snow there was being firm and on a couple of missing sections we chose icy boulder steps rather than walk round on grass. At top we chose a steep exit up the ridge between 2 normal exits, so we managed to manufacture a good grade 1 out of it. Good for Gordon who has little winter climbing experience.

Area : Cairngorms South-East: From Glen Shee to the Angus Glens

The Angus glens include some popular and easily accessible winter climbing grounds, especially in the corries of Glen Clova, but there are also some more remote possibilities in the hills further west towards Glen Shee.
