This area is situated on the north-western tip of Scotland and contains 4 Munros (from biggest to smallest); Ben More Assynt (998m), Conival (987m), Ben Klibreck (962m) and Ben Hope (927m). Also included in the mountains list are all of the peaks above 700m. The southern boundary is the road which joins Ullapool to Lairg and then to the A9.
A New Year Rockhoppers MC trip to Ullapool SYHA: no snow! From lochan Fada we followed the stalker's path up to Creag Dubh then over Meall Dearg to the summit of Cul Beag. We dropped north of the summit and traversed round above Lochan Dearg to pick the stalker's path back up near Loch nan Ealachan. A tusocky and boggy return over hard ground.
