This area is situated on the north-western tip of Scotland and contains 4 Munros (from biggest to smallest); Ben More Assynt (998m), Conival (987m), Ben Klibreck (962m) and Ben Hope (927m). Also included in the mountains list are all of the peaks above 700m. The southern boundary is the road which joins Ullapool to Lairg and then to the A9.
I stayed on with the President of the Rockhoppers to finally climb Suilven. No wind! From Lochinver we left our backpacking gear at Suileag bothy for the climb. The next day I was feverish but we had to catch the first bus south on the 4th so we plodded on east past Loch na Gainimh and Lochan Fada, making camp on a peninsular jutting out into the Cam Loch. Caught the bus on time at Ledmore junction the next day.
