A day out leading a friend and practicing my navigation and emergency rope work, prior to impending ML assessment. Climbing up Grindsbrook we headed across the partially snow filled peat hags to find the summit of Hartshorn, then heading north to find Blackden Rind. Lunch, together with some rope work, was taken at the top of Gate Side Clough. We then handrailed the plateau edge until Nether Red Brook, before navigating over to Kinder Downfall. Then following the Pennine Way back to Edale and our tents. A enjoyable day out with an engaging mix of walking for pleasure and skills practice.
