Snow from village height at Newtonmore.
Started `north to Forest to the west of Loch Gynack. Took bearing NE to Creag Mhor 662m, approaching along the south western flank. Paced towards summit as visibility dropped.
Some small wind blwon cornices noticed from the south eastern side of Creag Dubh after pausing with a wind break in Coire Buidhe. Summitted Creag Dhubh and paced along higher ground to Carn Coire na h-Inghinn (749).
Significant wind blown snow observed on the eastern side of Beinn Bhuidhe and Geal Carn. Took a wide bearth south from 738 to the 700m contour line before retracing NNW towards windy summit of Gael Charn.
Called it a day with fading light instead of heading to orignal objective A'Chailleach.
Post-holing and arduous walking on decent through Allt na Beinne. Reached Newtonmore carpark at 7.30pm, 8 hours after settting off.

Monadhliath Mountains (Carn Dearg)
Monadhliath Mountains means "grey mountains". Running in a northeast to southwest direction, the mountains lie on the western side of Strathspey, to the west of the Cairngorms and to the south east of Loch Ness. The mountains are within the Highland council area, and the south and east fringes are within the Cairngorms National Park. The high point of the range is Càrn Dearg, at 945 m/3100ft, located 24 km south of Inverness.
