Description

BMC International Meet.
Very stormy yet relatively mild day across the country so long drive to the North West to get a relatively relaxing walk in to save ourselves for the better weather coming up.....
Cobalt Buttress - A little on the dark side for my liking but good to be out and getting something done. Swung leads, both opted to take some interesting looking bits quite direct at times making for a fun climb.
Had hoped to climb Lobster Gully afterwards but doubted it'd be in nick so descended the easy gully to the start of Boulder Problem Buttress.
Boulder Problem Buttress - took the left start from inside the gully. Quick couple of pitches to the unimaginatively named feature and then back down the easy descent gully.
Climbed with Patrick Cooke.

Area : Northern Highlands South (winter)

Extending from Torridon in the north to Knoydart in the south, and including Glen Shiel, Glen Carron and Applecross, Northern Highlands South includes many brilliant winter climbs of all grades and styles. The quartzite cliffs of Beinn Eighe and the corries of Bheinn Bhan have become forcing grounds for modern mixed climbing, while Liathach nearby offers many fine, steep, traditional ice climbs. New winter climbing possibilities are being discovered on the mountains throughout this area on an annual basis.
