Description

Another week of lockdown. On Sunday a good walk east along the Kelvin and a Greenfinch by the tennis club even before we started. House Martins on the Kelvin. Cadder golf course has great trees, all out now, even the ash coming into leaf. East on the canal to the Torrance bridge & back on N side of canal, across golf course to Kelvin. Shoveler have gone from pond but a pair of Shelduck. Female Goosander on river & Mallard female with 5 ducklings. Swifts & Sand Martins here too. Monday, a run up to Blairskaith Quarry for a better look at the Common Vetch & Green Alkanet spotted last week - yes, definitely! Wednesday to the trig point looking for a spot for a bivi if that becomes acceptable! Hawthorn blossom appearing, as predicted around 12 May. Friday another quarry run. Saturday, walked Allander Way to Milngavie & back through Dougalston estate & across golf course ( bugle) to Lady Loch - 1 poss 2 Little Grebes (it's hard to know as they stay underwater so long), moorhen, coot, Canada goose, mallard.
