Description

Epic! 20 hours van to van, 14 on the climb. first VI for all of us, a lot of powder on the route to clear and James took 1 fall leading the crux and also fell onto the belay on the last pitch after snapping the shaft of his Nomic! Topped out at 1am into a raging storm, other 2 switched off and I navved us back to the van at 3 then drove back home for 5am. Long day!
Climbed with Sam Thompson and James Smith.

Area : Lochnagar

The winter climbs of Lochnagar are highly sought after, and they include several extremely fine routes of historical significance. As areas in the Cairngorms go, these cliffs are not too remote and in good conditions several parties may be found on the various more popular climbs.
