The snow was quite deep, so we decided to take our snowshoes. There were three of us, and one friend was wearing them for the first time ever. I planned a route that took us over Carn an Tuirc, mainly because there was a moderate risk of avalanches and I wanted to avoid the steep embankments on either side of Glen Callater. It was a really beautiful day with lots of hares about in their winter coats. We all enjoyed it, but we got really tired on the way back, because of the sheer distance we were walking in the snow.
