I shadowed the Irish youth team training sessions for two days. Day one I split my time between the smaller kids and the slightly older ones. observed Niamh with the smaller kids. she has great chat and they really trust her and show lots on enthusiasm. they try very hard and really showed how to enjoy yourself.
The older kids were more difficult to tune into. anxiety, etc etc, they are growing up I suppose and they were a bit more wary. I watched Eamonn work with the older ones. totally different approach. more demos. lots of skills on display. solutions offered instead of allowing them develop their own solutions. Success seems very important.
