Description

Led a walk from Haresfield incorporating Standish, Stroud Green and Haresfield Beacon for the rambers. 9 miles, 14 people including 5 regulars and 6 first-timers. Rain and sun over the last 3 weeks (since scouting) had lead to rapid growth of meadow grass, which combined with rain on the previous night meant that our trousers and boots were all soaked. However, the group took this well and on a warm day it wasn't too much of a hardship - it was too warm for waterproof trousers to be comfortable. Trousers dried out on ascend to the beacon. Otherwise an enjoyable walk, and finished with a drink at the Beacon inn.
