Description

Walk leader for a 20s & 30s walk from Haresfield, around low-lying farmland and hamlets then up to Haresfield beacon. 9 miles for a group of 14 on pre-scouted route. Recent (after scouting) rain & sun had led to lots of rapid meadow growth - this combined with rain the night before led to several long trudges through long wet grass. We all had wet boots and trousers up to the hip. However, the day was warm and people enjoyed the walk. Several new people, some of whom came back to my next walk - so can't have been too bad! Will be more careful of meadow grass when planning walks May - Jul.
