Description

Working with a couple who wanted to do striding edge.
Started from swirls car Park as they were staying in St John's in the Vale. Left the time to start until 2pm to miss the crowds.
Missed all the people, just a few heading down swirls.
Lyndsey was confident and loving the down scrambling as we headed down Swirral edge. Explained movement safety when down climbing or scrambling.
Short work made of Swirral, we took a direct line up to striding, saw only three people distantly behind us as we crossed. Taking our time, soaking up the views both clients loved skipping literally across the crest of striding edge.
Back up Helvellyn, no people. Sun starting to set, no wind. The perfect day for two people who had waited a long time to do this route.
No wind. Sunny. Lots of midges!

Area : Eastern Fells
