Day 2 of the CWI training with Rob Pugh. Today kicked off with some clipping coaching in the bouldering room and went onto different set ups that could be used to simplify belaying for a group of novices. This section included the use of ground anchors. In the afternoon, the group returned to the bouldering room to look at different methods of coaching the fundamentals of climbing. This started in the stairs to look at moving your weight from foot to foot and moved into the Den. We then looked at some basic problem solving and ended the day with some experiments on how much damage can be done to a rope before it fails totally.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 days with Rob reacquainting myself with the awards ahead of my role in the staff training at PrestonWall.
