La Gomera.
I have walked many times on the Island of La Gomera and this is pictures from one of the routes.
I walked this route with my 'equals' partner and we planned the walk using La Gomera Tour and Trail 1:4,000 map. ( it is a real treat to have a map as when we first started walking on this island 24 years ago there weren't any maps!)
The route in the pictures is Alejero-Calvarlo-Targa- Ghost villages of El Repecho and Alta Mache- Playa Santiago.
The part of this walk through the 'ghost villages' is extremely isolated and we only saw one other couple walking. It is across very rough stony land. The weather was 80f .
I learnt to take plenty of water, sunscreen, hat and to be especially careful when descending.
