First day of a two day learn to lead course (two mock clients). Terrible weather for day 1. Spent a couple of hours in the cafe going through theory of gear placement, belay construction, etc; then spent a couple of hours outside at the base of Tryfan Bach placing and scoring different types of gear, and then building and tying into belays using the rope and slings. Plan was to progress clients learning as much as possible to prepare for potentially lead climbing on day 2 when better weather was forecast. Afternoon was spent at the Beacon climbing wall looking at belaying, and climbing movement on the bouldering wall.
