Adam has joined me as an SPA trainee and then as an ML trainee over the past year on numerous courses with my clients in a bid for him to gain further experience. His technical skills have always been sound - from rigging climbs to navigating in the Lake District. His inter-personal skills with clients of various backgrounds from confident adults to people who are fearful of heights have always been excellent. he takes a natural interest in those around him and in his environment. He has an amazing memory and is wonderful font of knowledge making him an interesting person to be with. People are quick to warm to him are happy with him in charge. On a professional basis he is always prompt with his keeping in touch and personal administration. He presents a professional image and is forever the professional in all his dealings with me or my clients. Since passing his SPA I have already employed him. I am sure he will make a great mountain leader too.

Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor
I've known Adam for many years now and he has worked with my clients and me in his capacity as trainee and later as a qualified mountain leader and SPA holder. As an ML, Adam has guided client teams on the Welsh 3000s challenge (including the night legs over the Carneddau); navigation courses at all levels, wild camping mini-expeditions to the Lake District, and easy scrambles (Striding Edge). As an SPA holder Adam is as at home coaching experienced climbers improve their skills further as he is supporting clients on our Fear of Heights courses. I always ask clients for feedback following their adventures with my company and feedback following any weekend or course with Adam is always superb. His technical skills are well-honed and his people skills are excellent too. And while Adam is already technically very sound (navigation skills, steep ground management, coaching, ropework etc) he is constantly interested and engaged in learning more. He is open to new approaches and new ideas and happily considers alternative approaches to the way he does things. Adam not only reads widely about how others do things, but constantly gets outdoors and engages in his climbing and walking throughout the year, in summer and winter conditions. I have every confidence that Adam will make a brilliant mountaineering instructor.

Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor
I have now known Adam for many years, and over those years I have witnessed him grow into a hugely experienced and knowledgeable outdoor leader and instructor. Adam has worked with and for my business, Will4Adventure as a ML and RCI with clients of all abilities including people who are nervous at height and those wishing to develop their climbing and navigation skills. In addition Adam has been one of my key leaders for guiding clients on the Welsh 3000s challenge, often working in the hours of darkness, juggling navigation and adverse weather with tired, but motivated, clients. Client feedback has always been extremely positive on all occasions; and this is due to his brilliant inter-personal skills, supportive approach and well-honed technical skills. Additionally I have watched Adam develop new skills as an aspirant MCI over the past 18 months or so. I have climbed with him on multipitch routes in Snowdonia individually, and also with my 10yo daughter in tow. He has a forensic approach when it comes to acquiring new skills, employing absolute rigour, tenacity and his full and complete attention. There was a time when he might have been my apprentice, but now its him I turn to for advice and thoughts. I have no doubt that Adam will make a great Mountaineering Instructor and I look forward to employing him in that new role.
