Description

Day two of two day lead climbing improver course (mock clients). Given mixed forecast, opted to climb easy routes in series, and focus on stance management, multipitch climbing efficiencies and abseiling/retreat. Climbed Pulpit Route and Rowan Route with a mixture of in series and in parallel. Abseiled from abseil points below and above Ivy Chimney (progression - joining abseil ropes). Both managed as releasable abseils.

Area : Cwm Idwal, Glyderau, Tryfan and Gallt yr Ogof

Includes crags South of the A5 through the Ogwen Valley. Popular crags and routes include: Idwal Slabs (Tennis Shoe HS 4b), Tryfan Bach (Little Tryfan Arete Mod), East Face Of Tryfan (Grooved Arete HVD). Please note that Carreg Mianog and Amphitheatre Buttress (Craig yr Ysfa) are within the 'Carneddau' area.
