Description

A great walk exposed on the top of the fans today.
Parked at Blaen Y Glyn and did a circular.
Although I know the route relatively well, the visibility was very low, with driving rain for most of the walk, in 50mph winds.
Very few other people around.
With the dog off the lead (who did very well for majority of the route) she did run off once - she caught a scent on the wind and was off towards an escarpment! Broke track and moved off the path to bring her back across bog and heather.
Had lunch on the Roman road, on the northern side of the pass out of the wind.
A trudge back down the Roman road gave me a chance to help two couples out - navigation and general preparedness lacking on their part to deal with the summits. They seemed pretty thankful for this which was nice.

Area : Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park

Bannau Brycheiniog (the Brecon Beacons) is a mountain range in South Wales. In a narrow sense, the name refers to the range of Old Red Sandstone peaks popular with walkers which lie to the south of Brecon. Sometimes referred to as "the central Beacons" they include South Wales' highest mountain, Pen y Fan. The range forms the central section of the Brecon Beacons National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog), a designation which also encompasses ranges both to the east and the west of "the central Beacons". This much wider area is also commonly referred to as "the Brecon Beacons".
