The horns of alligin.
Photo shoot for scarpa, I was apart of a team of 3, the 3 of us are friends but I was definitely more experienced in winter conditions therefore making all calls.
due to the photographer wanting quite atmospheric photos we actually ascended up a grade 1 gully, fairly soft snow so cutting steps and safe guarding the ascent was really easy and fun. the gully was on the north east facing side of na rathanan the most southerly burn line, up the gully. then around the horse shoe and down Coire nan Laogh.
With such good visibility, we did not need to nav however ground management, safety was so key to make the day successful. therefore good communication and good decisions.
avalanche risk was isolated moderate patches on westerly slopes.

Cuillin and Torridon (Liathach)
This area is on the west coast of Scotland and its most well-known mountains are probably Beinn Eighe (1010m) and Liathach (1055m). The area is bordered by Loch Maree and the A832 to the north and Glen Carron and the A890 to the south.
