Description

- We ascended from the Cas car park through the ski area, up to the summit of Cairn Gorm. Spring had taken full control so our route was up for discussion as the sun began melting the snow pack.
- On the way up, due to the soft nature of northerly aspects we changed plan. From the summit of Cairn Gorm we traversed across Coire Dohmain and around Coire an t-Sneachda. We skinned back up to the top .5 gulley hoping that the snow would have put it in perfect conditions. After a quick scout of the line we skiied it down to the lochan and it was ideal.
- We then skinned and boot packed up to Fiacaill Ridge and inspected the hidden coire over towards Lochan but it was stripped a wee bit too far. We then skied back into Coire an t-Sneachda which was exceptional spring skiing.
- We skinned back along the base of the coire and up towards windy col. We boot packed the final section before topping out and heading over to the Cas headwall.
- We skied the Cas headwall and was so good that we had to get back up for one more run. Then skied back through the main area and walked the final bit down to main car park.
