Description

We toured NNE out of the car park, using ski crampons to work our way directly up the An t-Aonach ridge. As a group we were led by Malcolm but we swapped leadership roles and helped to mentor those newer to ski touring.
We headed up to the Ptarmigan picking our lines up the best slopes for touring and avoiding the pistes. We made our way to the summit of Cairn Gorm and then skied the Marquis well face before touring back up to the summit and descending down the Cas bowl, trying to avoid the wind. We inspected the avalanche debris that had just been set off on the Cas headwall. We waited for confirmation that there was no rescue needed and the boarder who set it off had not been buried.
Skied down to the ski centre for pick up.
