Description

From Cannich camp site, which was baltic in much lower temperatures than we've had. Drove up Glen Affric, then up Toll Creagach from south, some new snow at top & hard packed neve under. Dropped to col below Tom a Choinich but cloud always covered the direct ascent up the ridge. It looked steep on the map & since I couldn't see it, I chose to avoid it on the north side, up a little spur onto the north ridge (crampons required). Then up to the top and down the SE ridge.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
