Description

Teaching Andy and Matt. Andy VS lead. Objectives: multipitch, gear placements, ropework, abseil. Matt VDiff lead. Objectives: finetuning, belays, stances, retrievable abseils, switching leads. Plan: Crackstone Rib, Skylon (Lion). Plan: climb in series, sling anchor, safety rope abseil, stacked abseil, gear placements, rope stances, change overs. 7 pitches and 2 abseils in total.

Area : Llanberis Pass

The one-time crucible of Welsh climbing. The fine crags of the Pass are easily accessible from the road. On the north side, the principal crags are: Dinas y Gromlech (bearing the famous line of Cenotaph Corner), Carreg Wastad (flat rock) and Clogwyn y Grochan. Further down the valley is Craig Ddu (black rock). On the south side, the principal 'roadside' cliff is Dinas Mot.
