Description

Teaching Ray and Tom: Tom and I are very much on the early stages of trad climbing as it more of a skill to allow us access to where we want to go.  Our main love is travelling in the high Alps and want the skills to allow us to reach peaks.  We are both very confident at heights and we had some training in October last year Idwal Slabs.  4a grade I think we did as the key thing was to concentrating upon good gear placement.  We were meant to have then and gone practicing on our own but because of issues with my parents (which is why I have been so busy this week trying to organising things for them) this did not happen.  We need a kick start and refresher for us to get out and practice our skills. Plan Milestone Approach scramble up, Down MA gully, intro to simultaneous movement, Direct route. Plan. test climbing and belaying, practice gear on mock lead for Tom, practice sling and rope anchors. 6 pitches.

Area : Cwm Idwal, Glyderau, Tryfan and Gallt yr Ogof

Includes crags South of the A5 through the Ogwen Valley. Popular crags and routes include: Idwal Slabs (Tennis Shoe HS 4b), Tryfan Bach (Little Tryfan Arete Mod), East Face Of Tryfan (Grooved Arete HVD). Please note that Carreg Mianog and Amphitheatre Buttress (Craig yr Ysfa) are within the 'Carneddau' area.
