Glen Tilt and the River Dee are the natural boundaries to this area whose eastern edge is the A924/A93 road from Pitlochry to Braemar. Eleven Munros and a large number of other peaks above 600m are in the mountains list, with the tallest being Carn nan Gabhar at 1121m, part of the Beinn a’Ghlo massif. This area is the western Peaks to the west of Glen Tilt are listed in the Glen Tromie to Glen Tilt area.
Training for ML - Sat 9th of May start at Glenshee ski centre. warm and clear my group of 4 +instructor cloud base above tops, camped east of creag easgaidh near 785. Night navigation was light breeze on tops, cloud above tops, nearly stood on ptarmigan. Rained at night. Sunday poor visibility down to 1km at 750m height - cloud below 944 an Socach wind 40mph, rain, visibility 200m, clear at 650m again on return to transport.
