ROUTE: The Daear Ddu Ridge route was chosen as a shortish introduction to the area, with some easy scrambling in preparation for the Snowdon Horseshoe later in the week. We encountered dry rock throughout. The ridge itself felt comfortable to scramble up, mostly it was steep walking, with no appreciable exposure, and plenty of big ledges and grassy shelves.

KEY LEARNING POINTS/CONTRIBUTION TO EXPERIENCE: First outing in Snowdonia, contributing much-needed knowledge of a new mountain area! The cloud was reluctant to clear summit all day, and we had no view from the summit at lunch break.
