Description

Met up with Scott and scrambled Tryfan's North Ridge, Bristly Ridge, Glyder Fach, Glyder Fawr and down via Twll Du path. Excellent day out. Really hot weather- consumed a hell of a lot of water to keep hydrated. Bumped into Anthony on the hill and took the time to talk through some geology and Flora. Noted a lot of Breccia on Bristly ridge- it seemed to be quite concentrated there.
We observed two lost looking lads and offered help. they were brothers from Melbourne in Australia, who had ascended bristly on a whim! Veery nice lads and it was a pleasure to help them off the mountain. Told them a little bit about the local history and connections between North Wales and Merseyside. Due to weather and meeting our new friends, the route did take us some time, but its best to not rush on days like that!

Area : Glyderau

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
