Bangor Unversity Mountaineering Society introduction to climbing and leading.
I was given responsibility for a competent boulderer and top rope climber.
*Assessed climbing technique and knowledge
*Demonstrated and practiced clipping technique on ghost rope on low grades (4-5a) to gain competency
*gate orientation clipping issues were identified and troubleshooted using ground based clips through exploring selection of clipping methods.
*Student felt comfortable to progress to leading easy routes and then progressed to lead climbing suitable 6a's
*Lead belaying and stances/positioning demonstrated on the ground then progressed to me on autobelay for lead belaying and simulated lead falls with varying amounts of slack until good technique was acheived.
