ROUTE: East Flank from Tasch Hut
MEMBERS OF PARTY: Members of Martin Moran Mountaineering guided party. Guides Kevin O'Neale, Simon Jenkins.
CONDITIONS: Clear, sunny, light breeze. Snow conditions fair, no substantial ice
DURATION: Day 1: short 1hr walk from Taschalp car park to Hut. Day 2 start 4.30 am approx. Back at hut early afternoon, brew, back to car late afternoon.
SKILLS PRACTISED: Straightforward snow climb. Glacier crossing.
MOUNTAIN ENVIRONMENT: Sunrise over peaks very impressive - magnificent views to adjoining and distant peaks
KEY LEARNING POINTS/CONTRIBUTION TO EXPERIENCE: Low-stress introduction to alpine 4000ers. Familiarity with hut routine, preparation, climbing glacier in darkness initially, change in snow conditions on descent.
