Description

Working, winter skills and a journey to get a munro for the group.
Six people, working with John Walker We took the group to Na Gruagaichean. Crampons on at the 700m point, we ascended to the bealach between the tops, a steep slope with various techniques used by the group. All felt they were really getting the full winter experience now, excited to be on steeper terrain and to summit the mountain. Returned by the North East ridge which was in stunning condition. Avalanche forecast was moderate.

Area : Glencoe North (Loch Leven To Rannoch Station)

This area covers the northern side of Glen Coe and the mountains north of Rannoch Moor. Notable features include the Pap of Glencoe, the Aonach Eagach ridge (home to a few kilometres of horizontal scrambling) and the remote peak of Stob na Cruiache which is generally accessed from the train station to the east. Includes all major peaks above 600m.
