An Socach from A93. Forecast of bitter NW wind & snow was correct. 2km summit ridge seemed endless. I had to choose between the ridge itself in fierce wind, or a little to lee in deep snow. On the descent, I did not choose to drop straight down the lee side for fear of avalanche.
After a quick change of equipment, I drove to Linn of Dee & walked the snowy track to Red House bothy, newly rebuilt.
