I lead a group of 7 people and we had decided on the first full day to ascend CMD and cross the arête to Ben Nevis summit, however conditions were really poor with high winds. So plans were changed for safety reasons and we traversed around the North end of Ben Nevis around by Lochan Meall an t-Suidhe on our right side. We ascended a snow covered zig-zags to the plateau care was needed on the ascent. We continued on to the summit of Ben Nevis with the winds hitting us hard. We touched the summit and then descended to the CIC hut via the route we had ascended - this was a full day of winter kit, crampons, ice-axes.
