Duration: 8.5 hours
Direction: N up Glen Isla then up shoulder of Monega; WNW to Glas Maol summit; SW along tops to Carn Ait; SE up and down over each top to Monamenach then descending to join track back to Auchavan.
Description: Glorious day for a circuit from Glen Isla to the south. Lots of deer! I manually inputted route into OS Maps to check approx. ascent, it calculated 1161m over all the ups of the day. Route finding off path to find way across tops over final 5k.

Area : Braemar to Montrose (Lochnagar)

Listed in the SMC Munros Guide as ‘The East Mounth: Glen Shee to Mount Keen’, this area includes all of the peaks to the south and east of the A93. Still part of the Cairngorms National Park, these mountains are home to the north facing crags on Lochnagar (1155m) and the most easterly Munro, Mount Keen (939m).
