Description

A brilliant but tough expedition to bag three Grahams and a Corbett and to try out my new super light Durston tent. The tent requires two walking poles to keep it upright, and unfortunately one of my Black Diamond poles had jammed, and the replacement I'd bought from Decathlon collapsed while I was crossing the single track road, so I had to take it back to the car, and I used a tree branch instead. That lasted a couple of hours in the tent until the wind picked up - the tent still provided me with comfortable shelter, but the unpoled bit flapped about in the wind all night, making it difficult to sleep. Apart from that it was a fantastic two days in such a beautiful, remote area.

Area : Glen Etive to Glen Lochy

This is the area south of Buachaille Etive Mor as far as the A85 (Tyndrum to Oban road). It includes the peaks around the Glencoe Ski Centre (Creise and Meall a’Bhuiridh) alongside eleven other Munros and many other peaks above 600m. Highlights such as Ben Cruachan (1126m) and Stob Ghabhar (1090) remind all-comers that this is an area of high mountains and low glens.
