I organised a Meetup walk to Ben More on Mull via the A' Chioch ridge. There were 10 of us, and although I described the event as "Ben More via the Steep and Scrambly Route", and emphasised in the event description that a good level of fitness and mountain experience would be required, one couple who joined the walk had only climbed Conic Hill and Meikle Bin, both of which they thought were Munros. They didn't understand what I meant by "scrambling" - a lesson for future events! Luckily they both had good levels of fitness and managed the route well, including the scrambling, although they were sore the next day.
Area :
Mull (and Nearby Islands)
Ben More (966m) is the only Munro on the western isles which is not on the Isle of Skye. There are also a number of other peaks above 600m on the mountains list. Walking/scrambling done on Ulva, Coll or Tiree should also be listed in the area. Oban is the nearest port on the Scottish mainland.
