Description

Leading a group of 8 as training for a charity walk to Ben Nevis in June (Tumour Support Scotland). From Flotterstone Car park we traversed the south spine of the Pentland Hills over Turnhouse Hill, Carnethy. Scald Law, East Kip and West Kip. Back via a path north of the Kips (not used before), then the tarmac road along the reservoirs. Mist above around 400m so all main summits in cloud. Did not use compass as the path is clear and very familiar with the terrain. Carried Harvey's 1:40k Pentlands map and used it to confirm and follow path north of the Kips.
The group performed well and we generally moved at our own pace, with lots of chatting and "bonding" with new friends, re-gathering at each summit.
Duration 4 hrs : 52, Distance 15.6km
