Planned & led this exped . Slow going with heavy packs up steep NW flank of Ben More. I then navved us down to the valley east of the ridge - this took a while as the ground was steep and soggy. Fortunately the dense cloud had burned off at this point, so I was able to see where we needed to go. The plan to camp to the east of the bealach that separates Ben More and Stob Binnein worked well as we were able to locate a dry flat area near a little stream amongst all the marshy ground.
Area :
Loch Lomond to Strathyre (Ben More)
Ben Lomond (974m) and Ben More (1174m) sit on opposite sides of this area which stretches from Loch Lomond to the western end of Loch Earn. There are two distinct sections, to the north and south of Glen Voil, with the remaining peaks sitting to the south of Loch Katrine. Access to the majority of the hills in this area is commonly from Crianlarich, Aberfoyle or Callander.
