Description

Beinn Fhada from Morvich. Walked north east into gleann choinneachain and up the 'normal route' following allt coire an sgairne. A little worried of some snow and ice up high but it was largely free aside from a few slippery steps. Very much felt like summer conditions even on the tops with LOTS of sunshine and a hint of warmth to it. Guided a couple of friends who have relatively little hill experience but are keen runners and wanted to see how their fitness fared on a big hill day. Decided to return via the same route to avoid the 'bad step' on the ridge.

Area : Glen Affric and Kintail

South of Loch Mullardoch you will find the Glen Affric and Kintail area whose southern boundary is the A87 road to Inverness. The Five Sisters of Kintail, Beinn Fhada, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and Carn Eighe are just some of the impressive peaks in this area, and all have their own unique selling points such as remoteness, size, steepness or height. As a result, peaks in the list are all over 900m.
