Description

Had spotted a crag whilst walking around Diabaig over winter and wanted to go have a look at the most obvious line. Would have almost certainly have been climbed but no mention found online or in guide books. Above the burn which flows from upper to lower diabaig. A broken, chossy first pitch, good slab on second pitch with the crux leaving the belay. After moving right it becomes pretty straight forward with big holds and good gear. The final 'pitch' was easy scrambling on broken ground.

Area : Northern Highlands South

Extending from Torridon in the north to Knoydart in the south, and including Glen Shiel, Glen Carron and Applecross, Northern Highlands South includes many excellent and varied trad climbing venues, both in the mountains and on outcrops. The high cliffs of Beinn Eighe are simply one of the very best locations to go rock climbing in the whole of the British Isles, with many outstanding climbs on climber-friendly quartzite, while if the weather doesn’t allow a visit there the nearby gneiss cliffs of Diabaig offer climbs that are beautiful in both quality and location. The sandstone cliffs of Applecross also have many popular climbs. While the trad climbing opportunities elsewhere in Northern Highland South are more scattered and less frequented, they will certainly repay the adventurous.
