Starting at the Wasdale head green and following the trail along Lingmell Gill, it was a quick ascent of Scafell Pike up the main , tourist path before heading away from the crowds.
In the mist, I headed North East to Broad crag, below III crag, all the way along to Great End.
Retracing my steps I headed back towards Scafell Pike, but taking in III crag on the way back.
After Broad Crag however, I took the steep scree fields down to the North West before heading over to Lingmell its self. And finally following the shoulder directly West and above Goat crags to descent down to the valley.
Area :
Western Fells
The Western Fells form the southern wall of the Buttermere valley and the northern fence of Wasdale. Between the two lies Ennerdale so that in effect the group is the shape of a single horseshoe, each branch about 10 miles in length.
At the head of Ennerdale stands Great Gable. The southern arc of the group travels due west from Great Gable, the main ridge consisting of Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell.
