Teaching climbing day with 2 mock clients. Both good indoor leaders looking to progress to trad, one with a trad lead this year, one having only seconded one trad route previously.
Climbed all pitches in series with more experienced leader 'leading' and newer trad climber working on seconding skills. All belays built out of reach and we looked at getting the second to attach herself to belays with the rope. The leader built all of her own belays and we looked at tactics to manage the stances with positioning her second and the rope to allow for easy changeovers. The leader was nervous about leading as she struggles with the psychology of moving above gear. For additional gear placing practice and to try to find additional gear, she placed runners between mine, which I Abbed down to inspect and provide feedback.
2 abseils, the first one with a back-up safety rope and second one stacked.

Highland Outcrops: Glen Nevis and Poll Dubh
The Polldubh crags provide one of the most popular groups of outcrops in Scotland, with a range of excellent climbs suitable for climbers of all abilities. The cliffs on the other side of Glen Nevis and in the Steall Gorge are also included, as are all the other cliffs in the Glen Nevis section of the SMC HIghland Outcrops South guidebook. The sport climbs of Steall Hut Crag should be entered in the Sport climbing section of DLOG.
