RCI Day
Met Andy and went over plan and objectives before lying out gear for clients. Met clients and went over introductions, backgrounds and objectives for the day as well as weather predictions. On walk made good talk and discussed history of the mines and surroundings, related to history further west.
Once at crag went over safety briefing with clients and objectives for the day, personable goals. Andy set up one rig, I set up other rig - I wasn’t as smooth this time round so altered set up to make it easier. All gear placements great and used rope protectors.
When down taught fig 8’s, team teaching with Andy before Andy taught how to belay. Went through climbs and used positive reinforcement to help over tricky parts with coaching.
Same as previous, two climbs, break and re rig before two climbs. After these climbs as others were on Williams chimney we went to west face and set up using a bowline. Used bunny ears knot for group abseil. Talked about rope stretch, safety line and not letting feet go above hips as could go upside down. One client slipped on rock on descent and did go upside down but swivelled and righted himself. Next go round Andy took over, client nervous to take hands off rope so did a 123 big wave and dance which she did and trusted the rope.
