Description

Camping the shore 2 nights this was a long weekend trip with friends for my final 3 munros Meall Buidhe Luinne Bheinn and Ladhar Bheinn. This was our first time ferrying in to inverie. We had mapped a route to take in all 3 on the best forcast day so that we could also have a restful day and relax at camp, aswell as all being fans of big hill days.
we followed a big track out of inverie following the allt gleann meadil river before a long climb traversing towards gaining the ridge of Meall Buidhe, a realtively easy but full of ticks climb. From here the going was straight forward with brilliant views following the path and ridge enjoying interesting slab formations to climb on before dropping to an amazing bealach and climbing to Luinne Bheinn. From here a long descent to the bealach and then a big straight line climb to join the ridge of ladhar bhienn. A bearing taken to ensure an efficient straight line and then follow the easy ridge with one nice little scramble. Celebrations on the summit and a long pathless but broad ridge down into the glen to join the river and follow another track back to inevrie.

Area : Loch Eil To Glen Shiel (Incl Knoydart)

The Great Glen to the east, the A87 to the north and the A830 to the south separate this area from its surroundings and enclose an area of high mountains and low glens. The highest mountain is Sgurr na Ciche (1040m) and further north the South Glen Shiel Ridge is formed by a whopping seven Munros! Also in the area is The Saddle (1010m) which is home to the classic Forcan Ridge. Peaks in the mountains list are all above 900m.
