Session with Lada to review 8 week training plan which will commence on 23rd October and 1hour session on centre of gravity and weight transfer.
Started session with review of basic skills on slab with a practicing moves rocking from one side to the other without using receiving holds ending each move in balance stood up. This was received well and Lada appeared to see the importance of making this type of move in the most efficient manner.
We then progressed on to vertical terrain trying to apply the same idea to minimise the pulling with the hands. There was some difficulty in finding wall space where this could be done in a way that was clear. To make use of the available space and to be efficient with time we then looked at ways in which we can apply this on a variety of angles and the differences between a square shape movement compared to a diagonal shape. The improvised nature of this progression di lead to a little confusion with Lada as I think he failed to "feel" if he was doing the moves as he should. We then settled on a v3 boulder problem with a hard high rock over move. Using the ideas we had been exploring we repeated this problem a number of times trying to make the rockover as efficiently as possible. This applied style worked much better for Lada as he could see the benefit of maximising the efficiency. Overall the session was good but felt a little bit disjointed in the middle due to the lack of available and suitable wall space.
