
Staff Training - Equipment Checking (daily and monthly)
- Training staff on equipment checking procedures, using equipment checking guide (designed and implemented by myself) using source materials from manufacturers to assess damage/wear and tear on equipment.
- Training staff on how to effectively use the Gearlog, equipment recording platform. i.e., login, categories of equipment, how to filter, how to search, how to record an inspection, how to log new equipment, where to store quarantined equipment.
- Training staff on correct quarantine procedures.
- How to correctly use the new daily Clip n Climb checking spreadsheet and how to reference source materials to inspect webbing wear and tear, TruBlue retraction and Belaymate system.
Once staff have completed training, they will under go an assessment a week later to ensure competancy. Any staff member who defers or fails the assessment will be given additional support and training.
All staff are to undergo moderation every 6 months, unless an incident occurs.
All new staff must pass an assessment prior to being able to lead any activity.
All staff must undergo retraining as and when delivery standards are updated to be line with industry standards.
All assessment and moderations are recorded on a training matrix and paper copies stored onsite. All records are to be presented to a Technical Advisor during an audit.
